Lauren Thiele Roy is quickly growing her copywriting business in the online coaching world. She masterfully harnesses social media marketing to find her ideal clients. When did you start your business, and why did you create it?
When: The beginning of this year.
Why: Writing for others is like a gateway into their soul that unlocks the key to allowing abundance into their business with my creative and persuasive content at their fingertips. This allows me to be in alignment with my purpose and passion.
Tell us about your business and what makes you unique in your field.
My life forever changed when I was 14 years old. I was hospitalized for depression and anorexia. But what really transformed my life was when a nurse came wheeling over an old book cart. Instead of handing me a book, she handed me a journal.
And so I wrote away my pain, shared my deepest secrets. I spilled my heart onto paper.
It opened up a portal where I could give my heart a voice.
Little did I know how big that portal would become.
After I was released home, I continued journaling. I began writing inspirational messages and poems to others. I loved being a gateway to their soul where I could bring joy and self reflection.
21 years later, I finally took my love for creative writing to a whole new level. Infusing my background in psychology, I discovered a path where I could infuse writing and mindset. Copywriting.
Copywriting is all about reaching my client’s avatar’s mindset and creating hypnotic writing that causes them to take a specific action.
I think what makes me unique in my field is how I’ve always been open and vulnerable. I’m not afraid to show or evoke emotion, which enhances my copywriting skills.
What do you feel makes your audience special?
My audience is amazing, strong, influential female coaches who I greatly admire.
If you could magically give all of your community members one thing in this world, what would it be, and why?
Belief in themselves. It is hard to feel like you’re not enough and everyone deserves to reach their full potential and live a life of freedom.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about starting their own business?
To hire a purpose development coach. If your business is not aligned with your purpose and passion it will not be successful. Don’t pick a business and then see how you can make it purposeful, let your passion be your compass to find a business that is perfect for it.
If you could go back in time and do something differently, what would you do and why?
I wouldn’t do anything differently because I believe everything happens for a reason. If I went back and changed the process, I wouldn’t have had the same experiences as I did. It took me 3 years to start generating sales because I was out of alignment with my purpose. I still learned from amazing mentors social media strategies, attended events where I have met other entrepreneurs I speak daily with. I am proud to have had the experience of not making sales, still slaving away at my corporate job because I pushed that much more. It led me to working with a purpose development coach where I discovered my calling- copywriting. It’s been one heck of a journey but well worth it! There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Do you have an email list? If so, did you start it when you launched?
Yes and yes.
Is this your only job? Did you launch your business while working another job?
I launched my business one month prior to quitting my job. Since June, copywriting is now my full time work as it quickly grew.
How do you promote your site?
I promote the link to my freebie on my IG and FB page. My promotional posts are primarily done in FB groups, which has increased the number of clients exponentially. I will have a WordPress Website up and running shortly.
Who are your favorite bloggers or podcasts right now? Or what is an influential book that you’ve read lately?
Yes I love the book Hypnotic Writing by Joe Vitale. It has the best copywriting secrets. I’ve read it twice now!
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I also provide assistance/digital products to those looking to improve their copy.
