Erin Hodgson - Awakening the Wise Woman

Awakening the Wise Woman

It is absolutely fascinating to me the beautiful and varied ways women are able to create a successful and fulfilling online business these days. Can I just say how much I love the internet (when put to good use!) – Erin is from New Zealand which is very dear to my heart as I spent a year there in high school. I never would have met an intuitive and spiritual healer from New Zealand without a) the internet and b) my mid-life career/life change.

Erin Hodgson is kind and generous leader building a community of world changers who want to play bigger and bolder and braver in the world. Her mission in Awakening the Wise Woman is to reignite the passion and knowledge within each and every woman. She is a beautiful spirit, very kind and talented. You can find Erin at www.erinhodgson.com, on Facebook (www.facebook.com/groups/awakeningthewisewoman & www.facebook.com/groups/connectedwithancestorsandspirit) and on Instagram (www.instagram.com/erinhodgsonnz & www.instagram.com/awakeningthewisewoman).

When did you start your business, and why did you create it?

My business has been through a number of evolutions since I first took the leap 3 years ago. I created it ultimately because I was looking for better balance with my family, and a way of making an income while being present for everything being a parent of young children brings. Now, I do it for me, because I am passionate about it and because being a better version of me is better for my family.

What do you feel makes your audience special?

My audience is brilliant, brave, bold women who are here to change the world and shine their light. They’re just not quite as convinced of that as I am… yet.

If you could magically give all of your community members one thing in this world, what would it be, and why?

I would give all of them the ability to see themselves through the eyes of those who love them for who they truly are. When we see ourselves from a place of love and truth, we are unstoppable.

Has anything surprised you about starting a website?

I was surprised at how easily it came together after resisting it for a loooong time.

Did you create your own website or hire it out? Do you use WordPress?

I created my own website using ScribbleFunnels.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about starting their own business?

If it is something that serves you on every level and gives you the opportunity to do something you love every day… it’ll be worth every second.

If you could go back in time and do something differently, what would you do and why?

I would take more care to think about what I love and how to create a business around that. I’ve definitely done some work I didn’t love, and that is far harder to get out of bed for.

Do you have an email list? If so, did you start it when you launched?

I do for my new business, but never have before.

Is this your only job? Did you launch your business while working another job?

When I launched my business, I worked four jobs. Now, my business is the only thing I do…. but I don’t really consider it a job.

How do you promote your site?

I don’t promote it a whole lot. I get a lot of referral/word of mouth traffic, and my social media all points toward my website.

Who are your favorite bloggers or podcasts right now?

Hmmm… I don’t read a lot of blogs, but I love podcasting. I have a diverse list of podcasts I follow… I’m a secret true crime fan, so there’s loads of those, but I also listen to podcasts about human design, astrology, mediumship, witchcraft, consciousness, mindfulness, business… and I’m recording the first season of my own podcast with my business partner right now, so eventually, I’ll listen to that!
